Product Description

Invite abundance and charm into your home with this artisan‑made Pixiu incense burner. Sculpted by hand from high‑temperature ceramic and fired at 1320 °C, each piece displays slight variations in texture and color—making yours truly one‑of‑a‑kind. The legendary Pixiu form is revered in Chinese lore as a powerful guardian that draws in wealth and protects against misfortune; its open mouth symbolizes the intake of gold and treasures.

Myth & Design

Pixiu is celebrated for its ability to “eat” riches without ever releasing them. The stout, muscular body signifies stability, while the pronounced open jaw represents voracious appetite for good fortune. This whimsical tea‑pet style figure adds both personality and auspicious symbolism to any tea ceremony altar, meditation nook, or desktop display.

Crafting Process

Each burner is individually hand‑sculpted, smoothed, and underglaze‑painted before a high‑temperature kiln firing. The 1320 °C process bonds the glaze and clay, resulting in a durable, finely detailed surface that ages beautifully over time.

How It Works

  1. Place the Cone

Center a backflow incense cone on the spike atop the Pixiu’s head.

  2. Light & Extinguish

Light the cone’s tip until it glows, then gently blow out the flame.

  3. Invisible Channels

As the cone burns, cool, heavy smoke is drawn down hidden passages inside the figure.

  4. Mouth‑Waterfall Effect

Smoke pools momentarily in an internal chamber before flowing out the wide‑open mouth in a smooth, mist‑like cascade—resembling a miniature waterfall. The plume drapes around its paws and base for a mesmerizing visual.

  5. Setup Tip

Place on a heat‑resistant surface and avoid drafts for the best flow. Clean spent ash from the channel between uses to maintain a crisp waterfall effect.
